Bio

Rae Kelly is a Dublin-born singer/songwriter currently based in Hertfordshire, UK. Her charming blend of alternative pop and evocative lyrics endears her to audiences. Writing from the early age of 10, Rae performed mostly as part of a church choir group until reaching the final of the 2FM National Song Writing Contest aged 17, performing her original material publicly for the first time to an audience in Vicar Street, Dublin.

After finishing a degree in Music Technology, Rae re-located to the UK to complete a Masters in Composition for Film and Media at the University of Hertfordshire. Here she began to gig more regularly at local open mic nights and soon cultivated confidence as a performer. Rae has played venues including The Alban Arena, The Troubadour, The Imperial College in London and the Elgiva Theatre in Chesham. In July 2012 she was invited to play at the ZMF Festival in Freiburg, Germany, which also featured performances from Janelle Monae and Patti Smith.

Her debut EP ‘Render all your Thoughts’ was well received by local radio stations and featured on BBC Introducing.

After an unintentional sabbatical from performing due to health issues, Rae has begun releasing music again with ABC and Belinda Carlisle Bassist Andy Carr.
